The Cajamarca Carnival

Cajamarca is a department located in the northern mountains of Peru. It is well known for its carnival and its famous songs with their unmistakable melodies and amusing lyrics. The improvised ballads contain some rude yet affectionate verses and are delivered in harmony. Candelaria Festival in Puno

During the 18 days of the festival Puno, which lies on the shores of Lake Titicaca at an altitude of 3,870 meters, becomes the folkloric capital of the Americas.
