The Virgin of Carmen Festival
 A religious and folkloric celebration in honor of the Virgin of Carmen. The town is 30 Km from Tres Cruces (4000 meters altitude) where the sunrise provides a dazzling and magical spectacle. Thousands of people descend on Paucartambo every year drawn by the mysterious energy and strong devotion. There are several masses during the festival and processions and traditional dance groups fill the streets.

12:00 midday: Pickup from hotel and travel by bus to Paucartambo, approximately four hours. We arrive in Paucartambo by crossing the famous Carlos V Bridge. During the course of the afternoon we will witness the richest folklore exhibition in the region all in honor of the Virgin of Carmen.At midnight we travel to Tres Cruces de Oro (Three gold crosses) to witness the indescribable phenomenon that is the sunrise, unique in this part of the hemisphere.

- At midday we attend mass at the main church and witness the procession of the virgin and the accompanying dance groups with their colorful traditional outfits: the result of deep historical roots and the meeting of two cultures.
