- You will learn about pre-Hispanic Lima, colonial Lima and modern day Lima.
- We start by visiting “Huaca Pucllana” (1) a magnificent administrative and ceremonial centre of Lima culture, built in the 4th century A.D. and considered by the Incas “naupallaqta” or a sacred town.
We show you the historic center: Republic promenade, St. Martins Square, main square, Government Palace, cathedral, Archbishops palace, Municipal Palace, old streets with colonial mansions and Moorish style balconies.
We visit the church and convent of San Francisco the largest monument of colonial art in the Americas; its choir loft and the monks library; sacristan, with paintings by Zurbaran and Rivera; the main cloisters large patio decorated with tiles from Seville from the 16th century, Moorish arches and the catacombs, underground crypts of the colonial period
The tour continues to the more traditional residential districts: El Olivar de San Isidro, with olive trees brought from Spain in the 17th century, Miraflores central park and Larco Mar; a symbol of modern day Lima, a center full of international attractions, restaurants, shops and also a great place to enjoy a spectacular panoramic view over the Pacific Ocean.
