- You will learn about pre-Hispanic Lima, colonial Lima and modern day Lima.

- We start by visiting “Huaca Pucllana” (1) a magnificent administrative and ceremonial centre of Lima culture, built in the 4th century A.D. and considered by the Incas “naupallaqta” or a sacred town.
We show you the historic center: Republic promenade, St. Martins Square, main square, Government Palace, cathedral, Archbishops palace, Municipal Palace, old streets with colonial mansions and Moorish style balconies.
We visit the church and convent of San Francisco the largest monument of colonial art in the Americas; its choir loft and the monks library; sacristan, with paintings by Zurbaran and Rivera; the main cloisters large patio decorated with tiles from Seville from the 16th century, Moorish arches and the catacombs, underground crypts of the colonial period The tour continues to the more traditional residential districts: El Olivar de San Isidro, with olive trees brought from Spain in the 17th century, Miraflores central park and Larco Mar; a symbol of modern day Lima, a center full of international attractions, restaurants, shops and also a great place to enjoy a spectacular panoramic view over the Pacific Ocean.

Archaeology Museum and Larco Museum.
In a single tour you will get the opportunity to visit beautiful stately mansions which house the most important collections of gold, ceramics, textiles and art in South America.
Lima is home to two very important museums which display the best pieces and collections of pre-Colombian art in Peru. The National Archaeology Museum, the Peruvian Anthropology and History Museum, a viceroy’s mansion; old residence of viceroys and liberators one of Peru’s finest museums. Some famous stone monuments from the formative period (1000 B.C.) are conserved here such as the “Raimondi Stele” and the “Tello Obelisk”. Also on show is the most significant collection of textiles which date from the pre-ceramic period to the Inca age. There is also a good collection of ancient Peruvian metals. Larco Museum, an old viceroy’s mansion dating from the 17th century built on top of a pre-Colombian pyramid from the 8th century. This fabulous museum is home to the exquisite “Ancient Peruvian Gold and Silver” collection as well as the famous Erotic art exhibition. Its pieces are well known as they have been shown in the best museums around the world. Larco museum boasts the largest private collection of pre-Colombian art in the world.
National Archaeology Museum is closed to the public on Mondays.

An unforgettable mystical experience: Oracle, Temples, Myths and Legends.
It is a sacred, ceremonial place dating from the beginning of the Christian era. Thousands of pilgrims came to consult the Pachacamac oracle which saw the past, the future and destiny.
On our guided tour of Pachacamac we will visit the pyramidal temples and buildings constructed by various pre-Colombian cultures including the Incas; the temples of the Sun God and the Sun Virgins (Acllahuasi). The site museum houses the idol of the God Pachacamac.
The entire place is considered sacred and part of the mystical axis of the world.
The tour also includes the streets of Barranco, a traditional village with its sighing bridge, the beaches of the Costa Verde (green coast), the Pantanos de Villa Ecological Reserve and spectacular views over the Pacific Ocean. We travel south along the Panamericana highway.

The Mujica Gallo collection in Lima has become known as the Peruvian Gold Museum. Our guided tour will show us the collection of gold pieces which originate from varying pre-Colombian cultures. On show are priceless handcrafted gold objects and jewelry.
It was Peru’s famous gold that attracted numerous European visitors 500 years ago and was to lead to the downfall of the Inca Empire and the onset of Spanish colonization. Also on show is an important collection of ancient and modern weaponry. The museum is located in the Santiago de Surco district; we will get to see some of Limas modern residential zones on the trip.
