Our staff will meet you in the airport and transfer you to the boat for the trip to our lodge. On the way to the boat you will get to see the main tourist attractions in this eastern Peruvian city which was founded in the 19th century.
We navigate the biggest river in the world on board our comfortable and secure boat. The boat trip gives us the chance to see the magnificence of the river set against the backdrop of the lush jungle. Along the way we can observe the colorful and picturesque villages on the river banks.
Arrival at Amazonas Sinchicuy Lodge. Our native style lodge is surrounded by trees, plants and flowers; a truly tropical garden full of birds and butterflies. Whilst our expert nature guide gives a short presentation our staff prepare a refreshing welcome drink made from exotic jungle fruits.
Eco-Cultural Program
The trip begins either on foot or in canoe – depending on the season – to the Yagua Tribe’s community, one of the oldest ethnic groups in the Amazon. We will learn about their ancestral traditions and get the chance to use blow darts. We then return to the lodge.
Lunch is included. In the afternoon we take a tour around the outskirts of the lodge observing several species of plants. A shaman will then explain the traditional uses of the flora in the region. Afterwards we can watch how the juice is extracted from sugar cane in Santa Maria de Ojeal. We then visit a local fish farm, which exhibits native fish species, located on the banks of the river.
At the lodge we will enjoy a magnificent sunset.
Night excursion…/ Amazon legends.
We will experience the jungle by night either on foot on by canoe. Dinner is served upon return to the lodge followed by myths and legends about the history of the Amazon. There is also live music and singing to bring a close to the evening.
