PARACAS…. Continuing the tour we visit the Paracas National Reserve and the rocky outcrop known as the Cathedral.
It is located in one of the most deserted locations on the Peruvian coast in the department of Ica. It has an area of 335,000 Ha with 200,000 lying in the Pacific Ocean. The Paracas peninsula lies within an extremely rich maritime zone; the cold currents produce an abundance of plankton which provides nutrition for the fish, crustaceans, and mollusks.
The potential for tourism and education in Paracas is incalculable. In the reserve there are many beautiful places to visit: Lagunilla Bay, the Otuma salt plains, Independence Bay and the Candelabro, an immense monument constructed in the sand, visible from the sea.
A visit to the Ballestas Islands is like a visit to a natural, living zoo.
8:00 a.m. Pickup from your hotel
We pass along a section of the peninsula stopping at beaches, bird watching spots (flamingoes) natural rock formations (such as the Cathedral) the Reserve Information Center and site museum. We will also get to see a beautiful sunset.
