Patriotic Parties
The whole country engages in diverse ceremonies and parties to celebrate the independence of Peru which took place on the 28th of July 1821. Many of the celebrations take place in the streets of the cities and towns and include bull running, live music and sporting events. However, the highlight of the celebrations is the parades: the most important military parade takes place along one of the main avenues in Lima.
