Transport: Car or people carrier, depending on the number of passengers.

- We recommend taking the tour in the afternoon to give you time to rest in the morning.
- We begin the tour in the main square visiting the principal attractions such as: Colonial mansions, churches, prefecture and cell where the heroine Maria Parado de Bellido was imprisioned, the old Huamanga University and the Museum of Popular Art. We then visit the Archaeological Musuem, the city’s look out point, Santa Ana artesian district and its paint, textile and stone work shops.

On the tour we visit the pre-Inca ruins of Wari which was the capital city of the first Andean Empire. We will observe the ruins of the city such as aqueducts, tombs, galleries, streets, the main temple and the site museum.
We then head to the Quinua plains where we receive a historical account about the battle of Ayacucho and visit the 44 meter tall monument.
On the way back we visit the village of Quinua and observe how the locals mold ceramics in their workshops. There is also the chance to sample traditional dishes such as cuye (guinea pig) and chicharrones (deep fried pork).
The village of Quinua is a traditional population and has clean streets and tiled roofs.

En-route we will see from a distance the Pikimachay Cave where pre-historic animal remains dating to 20,000 B.C. were found. Huanta is also known as the “Andean emerald” due to the greenness of its countryside which is full of crops such as avocado, cherimoyas, lucumas and other fruits.
Huanta city offers the tourist attractions such as the main square (Plaza de Armas), the principle church, the gothic church and convent, the fruit liquor and honey factory, you can also purchase powdered lucuma.
There are also several good restaurants in the city where you can sample typical local food.

The circuit we travel is south of Ayacucho city, after 42 Kms we pass the highest point on the trip, The Toccto Mountain (4,200m.s.n.m.) On arrival in Condorcocha there is free time to take breakfast etc. We then visit the small Puyas de Raymondi forest before traveling for a further three hours to Pomacocha Lake. Around the lake we will see Inca ruins such as: Intihuatana, Inca baths, the Sun gate, the Inca Palace or Accllawasi, the sacrificial stone etc. A further 30 minutes of traveling brings us to Vilcashuaman.
Vilcashuaman was an administrative center during the Inca Empire, we will get to see the surviving ruins, the most significant of which are: The ceremonial pyramid (Ushno), the Sun and Moon temples, Pachacutec’s monument, the sorcery stone, Puma street etc. There are tourist restaurants in Vilcashuaman. Following this we head back to Ayacucho arriving at around 7 p.m.
