Description : |
First Day:
We travel to Chivay visiting diverse attractions en-route; the National Vicuna Reserve, with migratory birds, the Andes look out point as well as enjoying the varied scenery with differing fauna and flora. On arrival in Chivay we settle into the hotel.
In the afternoon we take a walk around the area and visit the ‘La Calera’ hot springs. Dinner is accompanied by a musical show and a traditional dance presentation.
Second Day:
We travel to the ‘Cruz del Condor’ (condor cross) look out from where we can enjoy breathtaking views of the Colca Canyon and witness the flight of the condors. On the way back we make several stops to take photos and to visit local villages. We arrive back in Chivay at around midday and there will be time to eat lunch and do some souvenir shopping.
In the afternoon we travel back to Arequipa, transfer to your hotel on arrival.

Description : |
First Day:
Pickup from your hotel at 6 a.m. to travel directly to the Cruz del Condor look out where we eat a light breakfast and observe the flight of the condors. We then begin our five hour trek down into the canyon toward the San Juan de Chuccho settlement where we spend the first night. Our guide will prepare all meals.
Second Day:
We set off on our trek deep in the canyon almost at the level of the Colca River. Along the way we visit the small villages of Tapay, Coshnirgua and Malata before arriving in Sangalle in the afternoon. In Sangalle we can enjoy a nice bath in the pools. The guide once again sees to the food and arranges lodging in local homes.
Third Day:
Very early we start our ascent up the canyon to Cabanaconde from where we take our bus back to Arequipa, stopping for lunch in Chivay on the way. We arrive in Arequipa at around 6 p.m.
